Upcoming Open Source Tools Workshop!

The IGISc will host a workshop on geospatial open source tools on Monday May 4th, 2015 from 5:00 to 6:30 in HSS 290. Combining brief lectures with hands-on experience, the focus will be on QGIS, Leaflet and R. By the end of the workshop attendees should know where to download these tools, how to access help documentation and tutorials, and how to read in and begin using data.

Unlike commercial software, open source tools are free to use. They are a great option for students who want to continue to develop their geospatial skills outside of the university setting, or who may be employed by institutions with limited proprietary software availability.

We assume that attendees will have some prior experience with ArcGIS software. Please contact Aiko Weverka ( if you have any questions.
